The International Ultraviolet Association is pleased to announce the 2022 IUVA Research Innovation Symposium. This will be an in-person conference taking place at University of Colorado (Boulder, CO, USA) from May 23-25, 2022.

THEME OF THE SYMPOSIUM

UV radiation has been applied in engineering systems for roughly 100 years; today, UV-based systems provide critical functions in a wide range of applications. New and emerging discoveries related to photochemistry, photobiology, UV-based applications, and UV sources may provide opportunities to improve existing applications, and to expand into new applications. This symposium has been organized to provide opportunities to explore new and emerging aspects of UV radiation and its applications. The conference will be conducted as a single-track event to promote engagement in presentations. In addition, the schedule for the event has been designed to facilitate social interactions and informal discussion. The individual sessions have been organized around theme areas, ranging from common applications (e.g., disinfection and AOPs), to health care, biomedical applications, and new UV sources. Speakers with expertise in these areas have been invited to present new discoveries and information related to emerging applications. The list of invited speakers was developed to engage experts from a wide range of backgrounds, including speakers who represent areas of expertise that have not traditionally been represented by IUVA and its members.

SYMPOSIUM LOCATION

The conference will be held in the atrium of the SEEC (Sustainability, Energy and Environment Community) building at 4001 Discovery Drive in Boulder Colorado on the East Campus of the University of Colorado Boulder. Enter the building through the courtyard just East of the parking circle. The conference will be held in room C120.

COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY

All attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and must provide proof of vaccination during the registration process. If you are planning to register on-site you must provide your vaccination card at registration. There are no exceptions.

STUDENT REGISTRATION

IUVA understands that not all students will receive funding to attend the Research Innovation Symposium. If you are a full time undergraduate or graduate student and would like to request a reduced registration fee, please email Mickey Fortune (mfortune@iuva.org).

CANCELLATION/SUBSTITUTION POLICY

IUVA has to cancel or postpone the event due to rising COVID-19 cases or other social disruptions, we will issue a full refund for your registration fee. If you are unable to attend the event because of a COVID-19 illness, we will issue a full refund as long as you provide us with a documented positive COVID-19 test.

Otherwise we will issue a full refund less a $25 processing fee if registration is cancelled in writing prior to March 7, 2022. Half refund less a $25 processing fee thereafter if registration is cancelled in writing prior to April 4, 2022. No refunds will be given for cancellations after April 4, 2022. In the case you cannot attend, we will accept name substitutions as long as they are submitted in writing on company letterhead.
